2nd Annual Great Earth Day Poop Scoop

Join Colorado Canyons Association, Roice-Hurst Humane Society, and Chow Down Pet Supplies
for a fun, outdoor Earth Day event!

If you've ever been out to Devils Canyon in the McInnis Canyons NCA, you've probably seen a lot of happy pups - and their waste - out on the trails!

When it comes to "leaving no trace" our pups need a hand, so that's what we're gonna give 'em this Earth Day and you're invited to help!

For the second year in a row, we'll have a couple of tables at the trailhead with info about the NCA, tear-off maps of the trail system, and most importantly ... a whole lotta poop bags! Plus, we'll have doggie giveaways for folks who show up and help clean-up!

Why are we picking up dog poop? Isn't it natural fertilizer for plants and grass?

Actually, according to the EPA, dog poo can be as toxic as chemical and oil spills. It's the #3 cause of water pollution in the U.S. and 1 gram of dog feces contains 23 million fecal bacteria.
