Bumble Bee Atlas Field Day

Join CCA for a hands-on training for the Bumble Bee Atlas project in McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area.


When: Wednesday, May 28th from 1pm-4pm

Where: McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area (specific location TBD based on Spring rain & flower bloom)

What: We will practice the Bumble Bee Atlas monitoring protocol, including collecting and handling bumble bees. Attendees will leave with the knowledge and skills to participate in the Bumble Bee Atlas project independently. The Mountain States Bumble Bee Atlas is an ongoing community science project and everyone is invited to participate!  Learn more at BumbleBeeAtlas.org.

Please bring: Something to write with/in, a camera (your cell phone will work great), snacks, plenty of water, hiking shoes, and sun protection.

Suggested (but not required): check out the Bumble Bee Atlas website, read the Participant Handbook, or watch the recorded training webinar to learn more about the Bumble Bee Atlas before attending this hands-on event.

Provided: Tools (nets), knowledge, and light refreshments
