MCNCA Air Strip Naturalization

Join BLM and CCA to rehabilitate a closed airstrip in the Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness within McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area.


When: Friday, May 19th 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (plan for four hours on site and an hour of travel each way)

Where: Rabbit Valley; exact meeting point TBD

What: Join BLM and CCA to rehabilitate a closed airstrip in the Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness. Volunteers will be working in a burned area on the CO/UT border placing woody debris on the impacted area to create micro climates and stimulate regrowth. Be ready to get dirty in a a beautiful (and little visited) area. Tools will be provided.

What to bring: Volunteers should have gloves and closed toed shoes as well as water and sun protection for the day (long sleeves, hats, eye protection, etc).

CCA will provide lunch, snacks, and refreshments.

Please note: we will be working in a remote area.
