National Public Lands Day in MCNCA: Trail Work Day

Sign up to volunteer with CCA, BLM, and friends on October 17th at Devil's Canyon, MCNCA in celebration of National Public Lands Day!


When: October 17th from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Where: Devil’s Canyons Trailhead within McInnis Canyons NCA

Volunteers can choose from one of three trail restoration projects to be completed on this day.

There will be three different trail restoration projects, including one that requires minimal exertion, one that requires moderate exertion, and one that is strenuous (hiking up to 6 miles and heavy lifting). Tools will be provided.

What to bring: Please wear seasonally appropriate work clothes (the thicker the better!) and sturdy shoes. Please bring thick leather gloves, eye protection, lunch, and water. other necessary tools and training will be provided.

City of Fruita will be providing snacks, swag, and refreshments for all!

Please note: Prior trail work experience is not needed. However, this can be tough (and sharp!) work, so please be prepared. An up-to-date tetanus shot is advised.
