Community Events

The Western Slope community is the heart and soul of CCA; our mission and programs are unachievable without dedicated and involved community members. In return, CCA hosts a variety of fun, educational, and engaging events throughout the year for everyone to enjoy. Our goal is to provide unique experiences for the community, to not only connect to the NCAs, but also to connect with one another. We host free community hikes, expert-led tours, lectures, and more for the public to attend. You can also find us at events throughout town, spreading the word about CCA. Come give us a visit and get involved!

CCA provides interpretive materials to the public to promote increased education and awareness of the rich scientific, cultural, and historical significance of the NCAs. Whether it’s on our website or out on the trails, you can find detailed maps of the NCAs’ trail systems; many of the Fruita Front Country trailheads have tear-off maps that visitors can take with them while they hike.

Additionally, CCA provides informational videos on the rules of the river. These videos promote responsible use of the river that help minimize impact on both the environment and other boaters.
