More about the instructor

Julie is a lifelong outdoors woman and dedicated yogi. As a Colorado native, Julie has spent much of her life exploring the mountains, rivers and deserts of Colorado. She began practicing yoga in 1998 and began teaching in 2014. She was also the Program Director at Colorado Discover Ability in 2016 and 2017 where she organized and executed outdoor recreation activities, including rafting, for people with disabilities. Julie has a passion for sharing both the healing power of nature and the transformational power of yoga. Her yoga certifications include RYT-500, 300 hour Advanced Teacher of Yoga therapy, Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy, Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga, Yoga for 1st Responders, and Ayurvedic Health Counselor. The blend of yoga, nature and the river offers participants the opportunity to re-establish harmony within the mind and body while enjoying the outdoor environment. As a yoga teacher and river guide, in Julie’s mind, the combination of a rafting and yoga retreat is simply magical as it allows each individual the time and space to reset.
