What: We all love a starry night! Kick-off Colorado’s Dark Sky Month on our 1-hour virtual webinar to talk about why Dark Sky conservation is important, the current Dark Sky work being done around Colorado, and what it would take for Gunnison Gorge to become a certified Dark Sky Park.

This event is free and open to the public.


About the speaker

Aaron Watson lives in Paonia, Colorado and serves as Director of Dark Skies Paonia - a group working to make Paonia a certified International Dark Sky Community. He also works on the regional level as Western Colorado Regional Coordinator for the Colorado Chapter of the International Dark-Sky Association.

Aaron Loves astronomy - He is a Black Canyon Astronomical Society member and provides services as a star guide at numerous star viewing gatherings around the North Fork Valley. Aaron is the author and photographer of an annual 13 Moon Astronomical Events Calendar that highlights important astronomical events for the year and keeps time based on the natural rhythm of the moon. When not napping from long nights awake under the stars, Aaron daylights as a certified Nutritionist and Health Coach, volunteers for various non-profit organizations, and loves to spend time in nature and play music with his friends.
