NCA Fall Youth Education

Central High Students enjoy their trip down Ruby Horsethief

This Fall, CCA and our partners educated over 1,000 school children from three counties in all three of your National Conservation Areas. The fall started off with two overnight river trips for students from Central and Delta High Schools.   Along with taking 50 students down our local rivers, we hosted the Delta County third and fourth graders in Escalante Canyon to learn about the Western Slope rich natural and cultural history.   We spent a week in Gunnison Gorge Natural Conservation Area hosting Delta and Montrose sixth grade students for a day at Cottonwood Grove Campground to learn about aquatic insects, food webs, and cultural resources.
