Geology and Hydrology of Western Colorado

Join Mitch Dorsk, a local Hydrogeologist, to discuss the geologic history, setting, and hydrology that create the beautiful landscapes in our backyard. Additionally, we’ll discuss the past, present, and future state of water rights in Colorado. Sit back and enjoy an educational evening alongside the Gunnison River!

When: Thursday, May 25th from 6:30 - 8 PM

Where: Escalante Boat Ramp in Dominguez-Escalante NCA

What: Hydrogeologist Mitch Dorsk will present a general overview of the water and the rocks we see on the Western Slope with an added focus on western water rights. He'll share how these factors, amongst others, affect seasonal flows and how that impacts the rivers that run through our three NCAs. No prior knowledge is needed and those that want to learn are encouraged to attend!

Please bring your own chair and water. We will provide light refreshments.
