2021: A Year in Review

Everyone went above and beyond to deliver CCA's mission over the past 12 months. With dedicated volunteers, flexible partners, generous donors, and committed staff, we are proud of the far-reaching impact we made this year. From STEM-based river trips to habitat restoration, we’re excited to share our 2021 accomplishments with YOU!

Our Impact in Numbers

In 2021…

• 1,945 students received STEAM-based education about the lands and rivers of our National Conservation Areas - 555 of those students rafted the river with CCA!

• 127 CCA volunteers dedicated 1,892 hours to stewarding their public land during trash clean-ups, restoration events, and educational programs.

• And 1,124 adults connected to their public lands through CCA's community events!

A successful river season!

CCA’s river team ran over 33 daylong and overnight trips in 2021 and got 555 students on the river.

STEM in action!

Students from Central High School’s Advanced Placement Environmental Science Program learned about the impact of invasive species in a riparian corridor and released over 1,000 Gall Wasps as a biocontrol for Russian Knapweed!

A new experience for students!

Many students who come on CCA’s river trips have never been on a raft before - our trips provide powerful (and fun!) new experiences.

Virtual Education

Adapting through the COVID-19 pandemic, CCA continued to offer education programs virtually and streamed straight into classrooms from the land.

Classroom Visits

CCA also offered small classroom visits to ensure kids received quality education about our National Conservation Areas!

Stewardship of the NCAs

We had our most successful volunteer year to date, with over 125 volunteers helping with habitat restoration, clean-ups, and education projects.

River Clean-Ups

Our annual river clean-ups were a huge success! The most exciting items pulled out of the river? A toilet!

Restoring a landscape

Volunteer helped plant 500+ sagebrush seedlings in an effort to restore the Sieber Fire burn site from the 2020 wildfire.

10 years with CCA!

CCA turned 10 this year! We celebrated the accomplishment throughout the year.

Enjoying the NCAs!

We enjoyed spending time in the NCAs with our fellow supporters on several hikes throughout the year.
